Preschool Montessori children learn by doing. Our classrooms feature beautiful materials that are the proper size for children of this age. Students use the concrete materials and their senses to explore the world. Children are guided by their teachers through the Montessori curriculum. As they are ready for a new challenge, new lessons are introduced and students are given the opportunity to practice the skills they have learned. Classroom materials grow just as our students do. Older children use the Montessori materials to explore the curriculum in more new and more advanced ways.

The 3-6 year old child experiences many periods of change. There is a transition to cooperative play and social interactions become more complex. Beginning skills in writing and reading are developed as children experience an explosion in language. The foundations of math are formed and built upon as students transition from counting to lessons about adding and subtraction, fractions, and even multiplication.

The Montessori teacher provides appropriate lessons to support each child’s growth and budding capabilities as they go through changes in social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
